Dalicon BV is an independent company founded in 2000. We have been offering IT advice and programming services to corporate and academic organizations.
Most of our current customers operate in Pharma, Bio-tech or the Scholarly Publishing markets. Because of our background in life-sciences and academic programming, we can rapidly grasp your potentially complex IT problems or innovative ideas, and come up with a workable solution. We are used to communicating with academics, non-IT aware business contacts, and external/internal IT co-developers. The types of solutions we created for our national and international customers are often innovative; some of the systems we created were publishable in scientific journals, or are used to support patented technology.

Depending on your wishes, budget and time constraints, we can deliver anything from an advise to a complete software solution. The latter can be a web site or stand-alone executable, running on either Windows or Unix. This software could be a:

  1. "proof of concept" (POC): often tied together with scripts like Perl/PHP and possibly 3rd party tools. This POC can then e.g. be shown to potential investors and as such help you decide whether to pursue ongoing development of your ideas.
  2. "stable prototype": as above, but much better tested and made more configurable to a certain extend; Ideal to see if you can get market traction.
  3. robust application: well designed, documented, scalable and transferable.
  4. upgrade to your current software: e.g. making an integration module with other software

The above mentioned overview of types of software, can be looked at as the stages in "software evolution".
We have done dozens of projects in all these stages. Dalicon can therefor assist your business in helping to decide what stage to choose, by taking into account your business- and IT-needs as well as the cost. To reduce the cost for our customers, we often choose to integrate 3rd party components, which can be either commercial, or free software (the latter often being Open Source).

Most of the projects we have done in the past show a strong database focus; ranging from SQL Schema design to no-SQL systems optimized for search & retrieval performance, to integration of internal with external data. On top of that we often create front-ends as well as well as algorithms and new ways (views) of looking at your data. The image on the top right shows an overview of all the IT systems and concepts that we are proficient at.
