ASquare is a Business Development and IT company that creates innovative IT solutions within the Health Care market. For one of ASquare's customers we have performed a thorough Process Analysis within approximately 10 departments of that organision. This analysis helped them to better understand and shape their internal processes. The outcome also helped to understand the fit of one of ASquare's products to be deployed within the organization.
Keygene N.V. is an innovate and ambitious research company with a strong focus on molecular genetics and biotechnology for the plant breeding industry. Dalicon has delivered bio-informatics programming services on several projects ranging from Oracle warehouse development to (co-)development of .Net stand-alone tools that visualize internally generated genetic data sets.
PharmaVentures Corporate Advisory is a leading specialist healthcare business advisory group assisting corporations in all aspects of deal transactions, from strategy formulations to implementation. Dalicon has co-developed their PharmaDeals Agreements database and associated products, which contains fine-grained indexed information regarding approx 40.000 deals & agreements between Pharma and Bio-tech companies.
PharmaTelevision® is the groundbreaking online TV channel for the biopharma industry, offering a television news archive, analysis and feature interviews with industry leaders. Dalicon has co-developed this international multimedia channel.
Check-Points BV has developed a patented system for fast and specific identification of a range of micro organisms (MO), enabling food companies to deliver fresh and healthy products. The system is designed for in-house routine use. Dalicon has screened and helped document their internally developed MO identification software.
NV Organon is the largest Dutch research-based pharmaceutical company and the largest pharmaceutical business unit of Akzo Nobel. Organon develops, produces and sells drugs, e.g. the contraceptive pill. Dalicon has delivered several software projects to Organon, ranging from an upgrade of an internally developed simple database system (written in C), to an innovative biodata-integration solution (based on SRS) which can be compared to a homology based version of Genecards.
CMBI, the academic Bio-Informatics research group of Radboud University, is the department that Dalicon spun-out from back in 2000. Dalicon was involved in a few projects since:
- MGV, the Microbial Genome Viewer, is a much used tool developed by the group of prof. R. Siezen. Dalicon has co-developed and maintained MGV for several year. It allows researchers to visualise (and compare) hundreds of bacterial genomes both on detailed level (linear plots of gene localisations and other DNA features) and on an overview level using circular plots.
- Dalicon was involved in a commercialisation project of MGV where we were responsible for the setup of MGV within a secure environment for use by commercial parties.
- LOFT, an algorightm and tool developed by the group of prof. M. Huijnen, helps in determining better orthologues groups. This tool required some Java GUI changes which was outsourced to Dalicon.
IOSPress is an international STM publisher of books and journals in major scientific areas.
For IOSPress we developed a prototype (using Open-Source software) of a community website built on top of a few of their new journals.
Dr. van Haeringen Laboratorium BV is a leading laboratory in the Netherlands performing DNA-tests in all farm animals. The priority of VHL covers the area of DNA-typing. Service testing is routinely performed at a high quality level.
VHL has developed a laboratory technique for rapid Microbial Community Profiling and Characterisation (MCPC). Dalicon has created a data analysis and visualisation tool to be used on the large data sets that result from such MCPC runs. The software is capable of e.g. rapidly creating 2D and 3D views of the data and performing data analyses like hierarchical clustering, Principal Component Analysis, Discriminant Analysis and Manova on the samples.
For one of the customers of Lion Bioscience, Dalicon created an SRS database module for the Genecards database of the Weizmann Institute, that runs at the EBI. This allows the customer by using SRS, to search and visualise search results of Genecards, and find the referenced biological information within the other databases maintained at the EBI, like PubMed and the EMBL Nucleotide database (amongst many others).
WCFS, the Wageningen Centre for Food Sciences, is an alliance of industry and research organisations to strengthen the innovative position of the Dutch food industry. This alliance provides the critical mass of top talent needed for highly innovative and original research aimed at sharpening the food industry's competitive edge in the new century. Dalicon has done a few project amongst others:
- delivering a custom made tool to perform certain meta-genomics analyses
- turned a proprietary primer design tool into a web-based tool with support for batch operations
TheScientificWorld is an innovative electronic publisher. Through its range of e-journal and e-book publications, TheScientificWorld offers high quality peer-reviewed original research and review articles to researchers and librarians in academia, government and the corporate world. Being our launching customer Dalicon has delivered programming services in a multitude of projects over a period of 10 year. Ranging from it's innovative Scientific literature aggregation system in 2000 to the current online publishing platform.
Purac is the world's largest and most experienced producer of natural lactic acid, lactates, lactitol, lactides and polylactides. Dalicon has created a secure environment for Purac in order for them to be able to securely use 3rd party sequence analysis software.
